    Instructions and safety information in a language consumers can easily understand, as determined by the Member State.

    Type, batch or serial number, manufacturer name and address, on the product or its packaging.

  • How do I substantiate a claim?

    For a cosmetic product, every claim meets the common criteria of Regulation (EU) No 655/2013.

What must appear on the label of a CE-marked product?
The CE marking, the manufacturer name and address, the product identification and, depending on the product, the WEEE symbol (Directive 2012/19/EU, Annex IX) and the battery label (Regulation (EU) 2023/1542, Article 13, from 18 August 2026 at the earliest).
Which legislation requires a user manual?
Most CE-marked products: low voltage (Directive 2014/35/EU, Article 6), electromagnetic compatibility (Directive 2014/30/EU, Article 7), radio equipment (Directive 2014/53/EU, Article 10). For consumer products, Regulation (EU) 2023/988, Article 9.
Which languages does the manual need?
A language consumers can easily understand, as determined by each Member State where the product is sold. Selling in France, Germany and Spain therefore takes French, German and Spanish.
Do you review an existing manual?
Yes: a full review of your existing manual, or drafting from scratch.
Do you also review marketing?
Yes: claims on the label and in your marketing are reviewed against the same criteria.
