What documentation do I need for CE marking?
The technical documentation, which the manufacturer draws up, and the EU declaration of conformity, which the manufacturer or its authorised representative signs (Decision No 768/2008/EC, Annex I, Article R2). Cleo prepares both, and a compliance expert reviews and validates them. Laboratory testing is billed separately.
How long does CE marking take?
It depends on the product and the tests required. Turnaround is stated before you order.
Does my product need CE marking?
Yes, if a directive or regulation that requires it applies to your product: for an electrical or electronic product, often electromagnetic compatibility, low voltage, radio equipment and RoHS. The product compliance assessment tells you for your product.
CE marking or CE certification?
The CE marking is affixed by the manufacturer or its authorised representative (Regulation (EC) No 765/2008, Article 30). For low-voltage electrical equipment, conformity is shown through internal production control, without a notified body (Directive 2014/35/EU, Annex III).
Is laboratory testing included in the price?
Testing is billed separately by the laboratory, depending on your product. The price, from €3,800, covers everything else: technical documentation, safety assessment, declaration, test coordination and platform access.
Who signs the EU declaration of conformity?
The manufacturer, or its authorised representative. The Cleo expert reviews and validates the declaration, ready to sign.
