Legislation, case law and doctrine exist in the open — published on thousands of official government portals. But they are scattered across 177 jurisdictions, locked in PDFs, in dozens of languages, with no shared structure. Legal Atlas is the layer that fixes this: a machine-readable legal database that aggregates and indexes the world’s law from authenticated official sources, and exposes it through a single REST API. Today it tracks 1,494 official sources across 177 jurisdictions.

The law is published. It is not accessible.
Every country publishes its legislation, but no two publish it the same way. A regulation might live as a scanned PDF on a ministry portal, a paginated HTML page on an official journal, or a database with no export. Citations differ, languages differ, update cadences differ. For a human researcher this is friction. For a software system — a legal-tech product, a compliance engine, an AI agent — it is a wall.
The result: the same legal text gets re-collected, re-parsed and re-verified by every team that needs it, over and over. Legal Atlas does that work once, at source, and keeps it fresh.
